Join the Stop Carbon Capture Alliance for a special briefing on the Senate's permitting reform bill or the BAAJA. The Senate has scheduled a vote on so-called permitting reform legislation that will make it easier for the carbon capture industry to force dangerous and unnecessary projects onto communities. This bill would have major implications for future CO2 projects and weaken community protections.

For this twice-monthly meeting, we will be joined by legal and technical experts to dive into how this bill would:

Infringe on states' rights to protect waterways from carbon pipelines,

enforce arbitrary 1-year deadlines on permitting decisions,

restrict the ability of states and communities to challenge permits in court, and

make it harder for future administrations to reverse decisions on projects.

Most importantly, we will discuss actions you can take to educate members on these issues.
