Extreme heat is an escalating global challenge, with many regions across the world experiencing their warmest summers on record this year. As the climate continues to warm and heatwaves become more frequent and intense, elevated nighttime temperatures, high humidity, and urban heat islands further increase risks to human health. Drawing on lessons from South Asia, Europe, and the U.S., this discussion will explore the human health impacts of extreme heat, community adaptation strategies, and innovative solutions that can increase preparedness in a warming world. The fifth annual Ramanathan Climate Conversation will be a hybrid event in collaboration with the National Academy of Medicine (NAM)
