Across America, let's make good trouble.

We are facing the most brazen rollback of civil rights in generations. The same spirit that fueled Selma, Montgomery, and the March on Washington lives on in our unified action.

Join us as we:

• TEACH our community members about the critical fight for our freedom to vote,

• REACH out to our neighbors to bring them into this movement, and

• PREACH to our loved ones about the moral necessity to carry the torch of the civil rights movement.

Like last year, we are planning a dispersed countywide protest - on intersections and bridges throughout the county, from Santa Cruz to Aptos, from 4pm-6pm on the evening of Friday, July 17th. We would again like to ask each Issue Team to take responsibility for an intersection or bridge on July 17th.

Please let me know by July 19th if your team is able to adopt an intersection or bridge for this event and if the attached location list that was used last year will work for you, in terms of the intersection or bridge assigned to your Issue Team. (Note: some revisions to the proposed intersections have been made based upon addition/disbandment of issue teams since last year's protest).

As an FYI, we will be reaching out to the activists in Scotts Valley/San Lorenzo Valley to ask if they would like to participate in the Friday protest and will also be in contact with Indivisible Pajaro Valley regarding our plans for the Good Trouble weekend. Additionally, we will be inviting ISCC members to organize corner protests in their neighborhoods.

In addition to the Friday evening protest, we are working on coordinating a rally on Saturday, July 18th. This will take place 10am-11:30am on the courthouse steps and will include music and speakers, possibly ending with participants lining Ocean Street.
