The Santa Cruz Community Calendar
Santa Cruz County, California
Saturday, June 6, 2026
On June 9, the Santa Cruz City Council and County Board of Supervisors will consider updates to local ordinances that protect our coast from offshore oil drilling and emerging threats like deep-sea mining. These protections are part of California's historic "Blue Wall" - local policies that prevent the onshore infrastructure needed to support offshore extraction industries.
We need your voice to help show strong community support. Here are three ways you can support:
Join us at the June 9 meetings (County Board of Supervisors will likely be in the morning, the City in the afternoon. We will share the exact timing when the agendas are released around June 4).
Sign our support letter
Consider submitting your own letter to local officials. (We will share the specifics to include in the letter once the agendas are released around June 4).
Together, we can continue Santa Cruz's legacy of coastal protection and environmental leadership.
