Data Centers & Big Oil: What's the Connection?

This is the 2nd quarterly community briefing, co-led by CCI and Union of Concerned Scientists. We will be joined by UCS senior analysts Laura Peterson and Maria Fernanda Chavez who will present on the intersection of fossil fuel interests, AI, and the energy-intensive data center buildout. They will provide an overview of a new UCS report, Data Center Power Play, using the findings and state policy recommendations for Wisconsin as a case study. They will also discuss parallels between Big Tech and Big Oil's efforts to shield themselves from legal accountability.
