Activist, filmmaker to hold talk on West Bank trip

On Dec. 6, Santa Cruz Friends Meeting will host "What's Really Happening In The West Bank?" where activist and filmmaker Robert Levering will share about his recent trip to the West Bank.

He returned three weeks ago after shooting for his next documentary film about the plight of Palestinian Christians. While there, he and his film crew interviewed 17 Palestinians and Israeli peace activists who described settler attacks on Palestinian farmers harvesting olives, IDF raids, accounts of torture and abuse in Israeli prisons, and other impacts of Israel's military occupation of the West Bank. A longtime peace activist, businessman and documentary filmmaker, two of his documentaries are on PBS: "The Movement and the ‘Madman'" and "The Boys Who Said No!" All are welcome.
