AFSCME 3299 On Strike!
Join the picket line at the UCSC entrance, Bay and High Streets in Santa Cruz
Let's turn out to the picket line and help AFSCME 3299 win a fair a contract. The picket lines will run from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 17 and Tuesday, Nov. 18.
It's time to hit the picket lines on Monday November 17 and Tuesday November 18 in solidarity with our brothers and sisters at AFSCME 3299 and CNA!
The California Federation of Labor Unions has granted sanction to AFSCME 3299, representing more than 40, 000 University of California Service and Patient Care Technical Workers, and the California Nurses Association, representing over 25, 000 UC Nurses, for a two-day strike at the University of California (UC) beginning on Monday, Nov. 17.
Union members are facing a growing affordability crisis, getting priced out of local housing markets by wages that have failed to keep up with inflation. This has forced thousands to leave their jobs, creating a staffing shortage crisis at UC. Meanwhile, UC is handing out lavish raises and benefits for its wealthiest executives, and refusing to pay their own workers a fair wage!
