Rowan Campbell Millar's Cosmic Symposium presents:

Ancient Anthrozoomorphic Cartography

Branciforte Library - Community Room

230 Gault Street, Santa Cruz 95062 (near Darwin Street)

Free Class

Animal and human shaped maps are the heart of traditional culture, with particular focus on the French Lascaux Caves 20, 000-year-old "Famous Scene" map of the southwestern Pacific Ocean and islands. Significant attention will also be given to ancient Egyptian maps of the entire Earth, and to the 11, 600-year-old anthrozoomorphic map of America on Gobekli Tepe Pillar 43 in Turkey. The overall knowledge system which these maps were part of will be comprehensively explained.
