UCS invites you to a training webinar on how to submit a comment to ensure the NNSA fully considers the public and environmental risks that come with expanded plutonium pit production. As the NNSA rushes toward resumed pit production, frontline communities in New Mexico and South Carolina still face the consequences of unremediated environmental contamination and harm from past activities for which there is little accountability, understanding, or reparation.

The NNSA must be transparent and comprehensive in their Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement and fully consider the effects of expanded plutonium pit production and the risks it brings to frontline communities. There is no need to expand plutonium pit production, and rushing to do so only increases the risks for workers and frontline communities.
