Every summer, the California Academy of Sciences launches a statewide project dedicated to exploring and documenting biodiversity in our coastal habitats. This year, the Santa Cruz Museum of Natural History and the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary are partnering to host a bioblitz at Davenport Landing! Join us for a sunrise expedition to document wildlife during an extreme low tide (-1.67ft!) The data we collect will help scientists monitor and care for our coastal habitats. No previous iNaturalist experience required - we can train you onsite! The activity is not recommended for kids younger than 10, and will require walking about 1/2 mile on sand and climbing a couple of smaller (3ft) rocks.
