Before the city of Santa Cruz starts construction on Lot 4 and the stately magnolias and liquidambar trees there are destroyed, you are invited to a low-key gathering on Saturday, April 26, at 1 pm, on Lot 4. This is the same day the Friends of the Library are having an event to hype the mixed use project there. Our event is separate from theirs. If you have enjoyed the life force of those trees while shopping at the Wednesday Farmers' Market or at other times, say your goodbyes to them with other community members. Judi Grunstra.
