Beginning in 2021, Amah Mutsun Land Trust (AMLT) initiated a project to grow 135, 000 native plants for seed production at Cascade Ranch on Año Nuevo Point. The seeds produced will be used to restore and steward biodiverse and culturally important coastal prairie vegetation communities at Quiroste Valley Cultural Preserve nearby. We have planted over 130, 000 native plants in 45 beds at Cascade, and AMLT staff and our AMLT Volunteer Team work together to propagate and tend the native plants. We are now reaching the time of year when many native plants are producing seed abundantly, and we are seeking help from additional volunteers to harvest seed and to tend the beds of native plants through weeding, spreading mulch, and other related tasks. We invite you to join us to help with this work. This will also be an opportunity to and to learn a bit about the work of AMLT and the native plants we are working with.register: Link
