Background Info:

The Housing Element is part of Santa Cruz County's General Plan, and identifies policies and programs to meet existing and projected housing needs for the urban unincorporated areas of the County. Every eight years, the state requires all counties and cities to update their Housing Element to ensure an adequate supply of housing units can be developed to meet the needs of community members at all income levels.
Public engagement is a critical part of the success of the 2023 Housing Element, and so in collaboration with our consultant we developed an interactive tool we call the Interactive Housing Plan. We invite community members to participate in the process and this Interactive Housing Plan is one fun way to do so.
