n\nCome out to support the call for divestment from fossil fuels - RSVP at

ift.app/events/chase-stop-funding-fossil-fuels-santa-cruz-passover-action<
/a>\n\nWe will encourage people to move their money\, and highlight the in
justices of Chase's continued funding of new and expanded fossil fuel proj
ects - see below for details. \n\nOur Climate Justice actions may vary fro
m month to month - see https://novasutras.org/santacruz/santa-cruz
-events/#noL3 for examples. \n\nThese actions in Santa Cruz were init
iated by our local Extinction Rebellion affinity group (with occasional or
ganizing support from Novasutras)\, but they are open to all who feel call
ed to stand up for climate justice. \n\nWhys & Wherefores \n\nChase Bank
is one of the largest funders of fossil fuel projects\, including the Coa
stal GasLink pipeline and Line 3 Pipeline. Climate justice activists advoc
ate that people move their money out of Chase Bank until it stops funding
fossil fuel expansion projects like Coastal GasLink in Canada\, Line 3 in
Minnesota\, and Keystone XL. Many of these projects go through indigenous
lands without informed consent by indigenous communities. \n\nFor instanc
e\, the Wet'suwet'en indigenous nation in British Columbia has called for
solidarity actions across the world as they fight an illegal pipeline (Coa
stal GasLink) slated to cross their sovereign territories with funding\, o
f course\, primarily organized by CHASE Bank. \n\nCOP26 highlighted the u
rgency of global responses to the climate crisis. The International Energy
Agency has said our only pathway to limiting global warming to 1.5 ÃÂ
ÃÂÃÂðC must include "no investment in new fossil fuel
supply projects."
