UCSC Long Range Development Plan aka LRDP The Santa Cruz County Group of the Sierra Club invites you to an examination of UCSC's plans for growth and its consequences. This ninety-minute event will be moderated by Santa Cruz Sierra Club Group and feature presentations from our co-sponsors. Please join us and our co-sponsors* for an educational event to help clarify community concerns around UCSC's recently released Long Range Development Plans and the Draft Environmental Impact Report, and discuss questions and concerns you may have. Our Concerns: UCSC hopes to grow by 50% within the next 20 years. How would that affect humans and other species in Santa Cruz City and County? What might the impacts be on our natural resources and environment? Are there ways to reduce these effects? Is the University being realistic about the potential effects of its growth? What about housing, water, wildfire, and transportation issues? Are UCSC's proposed mitigations to its expansion adequate? How can UCSC's stated goals, e.g., housing new students on campus, be made enforceable?
