Regional Conservation Investment Strategies (RCIS) are conservation planning documents prepared by public agencies to identify key conservation opportunities and habitat enhancement actions within the RCIS area. Once finalized, the Santa Cruz County RCIS can then help expedite delivery of transportation projects by facilitating regional advance mitigation planning: a process in which the environmental mitigation for impacts from multiple projects can be pooled and conducted in advance, resulting in larger conservation projects that have greater benefits, and potential mitigation for transportation projects is identified in advance of final project design.interested parties can learn more about the SCCRCIS and provide input by visiting the SCCRCIS online public workshop before February 19, 2021, www.sccrtc.org/rcis/workshop, emailing rcis_santacruzcounty@sccrtc.org">rcis_santacruzcounty@sccrtc.org, or mailing their comments to 1523 Pacific Ave, Santa Cruz, CA 95060.The Public Meeting will be held over Zoom:https://us02web.zoom.us/j/83163588386
