Something to Love---Something to Hope For,A Conversation with Jonathan FranzenNovelist Jonathan Franzen may not be very sanguine about climate disruption, but he cultivates a sense of hope. Join Jonathan and community activists Lynda MarĂn and Mireya Gomez Contreras for a reflection on where we find hope in these times. The event is a benefit for the Sierra Club and CFST lawsuit against Caltrans, our attempt to stop Highway 1 expansion and prioritize alternatives to auto dependency. For a look at one alternative, check out the 11 minute video, REAL Bus-on-Shoulder in which I describe an potential near-term alternative to being stuck in traffic on Highway 1.We are half-way to our fundraising goal of $56, 000 for the lawsuit. Will you make a donation online? Or send a check made out to the Sierra Club Foundation to CFST, PO Box 7927, Santa Cruz, Ca. 95061. All checks to the Sierra Club Foundation are tax deductible. For any donation, large or small, we will send you a ticket to Something to Love---Something to Hope For.Register:https://sustainabletransportation.eventsmart.com/events/conversation-with-jonathan-franzen/
