Ramadan is the most sacred month of the year in Islamic culture. This year it will be celebrated from May 5th to June 4th. Millions of Muslims around the world will gather with family and friends to pray, fast from dawn to dusk, and break-the-fast with meals and feasts, called Iftars. Our community will join others across the United States to celebrate in solidarity with Muslim friends and neighbors and focus on peace, justice and healing in the Middle East and here, in our communities.
The Muslim Solidarity Group of Sanctuary Santa Cruz is presenting Santa Cruz Community Ramadan on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at the Pacific Cultural Center. The evening will include a program focussed on Ramadan teachings, a traditional Iftar dinner, and dialogue from 6:45-9 PM.
It is important to pre-register sanctuary-sc.net/ramadan so that we can plan the dinner accurately. There is no charge and we respectfully request donations to contribute to creating this Ramadan evening.
