How does a candidate get the backing of a major party? Delegates to the state party convention select the state party chair and endorse candidates on behalf of the party.
Here's how YOU can help make the California Democratic Party more progressive: Vote for delegates to the state party convention who support the issues Bernie has been championing. These elections are being held in January at an Assembly District Election Meeting (ADEM) in every State Assembly District (AD).
Mark Stone's district includes all of Santa Cruz County excluding Watsonville, as well as coastal Monterey County cities and a piece of Santa Clara County. The election for AD 29 will be:
Sunday, January 13, 8:30 am - 12 Noon
SEIU Union Hall, 517 Mission St, Santa Cruz, at the corner of Locust Street. Overflow parking at Mission and Union Streets.

Doors open at 8:30am. Candidate speeches begin at 9:30. Ballots may be cast from 10am-Noon. Democratic Party registration in the district is required to vote, but don't let that stop you! Same day voter registration is allowed and available on site. The Progressive-Labor slate of 14 candidates includes 8 SC4B members and 10 union members.
