Following in the footsteps of citizens who halted construction of a nuclear power plant in Davenport and an oil refinery at Moss Landing, Save Our Shores formed in January 1978, to appose plans to drill for oil in federal waters off central and northern California. Over the course of 40 years, SOS continues to preserve "our ocean backyard."
Meet author Dan Haifley, Save Our Shores' first executive director and the current director of O'Neill Seas Odyssey. He will talk about the history of Save Our Shores, and also sign copies of his new book.
This book launch is sponsored in part by The History Forum.
