This 6-week City of Santa Cruz program (6 evening classes & 2 Saturday field trips) will explore waste prevention, recycling processes and markets, Zero Waste concepts, Take Back and Extended Producer Responsibility programs, household hazardous waste, repairing and repurposing items, a green consumer "how-to," and much more. Field trips offer an up-close and behind-the-scenes look at sort-ed and baled recyclable material, large and small scale composting systems, and electronic waste management
After completing your training you agree to give back 20 hours of volunteer service to put your new skills into practice.
Six Tuesday evening classes: 6:00 - 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays: February 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th and March 6th, 13th. Two Saturday field trips: 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturdays, February 10th and February 24th
This program is offered free of charge and applicants must be 18 years and up to participate.
